Tinsley Investigations was founded by April Tinsley, a licensed private investigator, retired law enforcement officer, and registered pharmacist with over 25 years of experience in healthcare and investigations.

April began her career as a pharmacist before transitioning into law enforcement, where she served as a state pharmacy investigator specializing in controlled substances, regulatory violations, and complex investigations. Her background brings a unique level of detail, analytical skill, and documentation that is especially valuable in criminal defense, civil, and regulatory cases.

Tinsley Investigations is not a one-person operation. April works alongside her husband, Stephen Tinsley, a retired Supervisory Special Agent with the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA). Prior to his decorated career with DEA, Stephen worked as a sheriff's deputy and a Special Agent with the Georgia Bureau of Investigations (GBI). After his retirement, he also served as an elected Sheriff. Stephen brings decades of experience at the local, state, and federal levels, including leadership roles and extensive investigative work across multiple jurisdictions.

Together, they operate as a team—combining practical field experience with investigative strategy, surveillance expertise, and real-world law enforcement knowledge.

Certain investigations benefit from the involvement of two investigators. This can provide enhanced surveillance coverage, additional observations, improved efficiency, and greater flexibility in the field. When appropriate, April and Stephen work together during surveillance operations while maintaining the firm's standard hourly single investigator rate.
